On my first time eating at Burger Avenue BGC, this is what I ordered. And since I don’t want to keep going to BGC just to have one, I figured i’ll just go to savemore. It’s about time i used up my leftover blue cheese anyway.
This recipe will take you about 20 mins to prepare and cook, considering your ground beef is already at room temperature.
What you need
1/2 kg ground beef
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp ground black pepper
1/2 tbsp salt
1/2 cup cream cheese
1/4 cup blue cheese (optional)
1/2 can mushrooms (sliced)
1/4 cup white onions (chopped)
1 tbsp garlic (chopped)
1 tbsp hot sauce
In a bowl, mix the ground beef, hot sauce, paprika, ground black pepper and salt together. Use your hands to make sure the spices and flavors are evenly spread.
1/2 kg of ground beef should be able to make four patties. Form them into burger patties, and allow it to stick together faster inside the refrigerator.
In a small frying pan drizzled with olive oil, saute the garlic until light brown, followed up by the onions and mushrooms.
Set aside to cool once the mushrooms have a bit of a sear on them.
Combine the cream cheese, crushed blue cheese, and the cooked garlic, onions, and mushroom into a bowl and fold until all the mushrooms have been covered with cheese.
Heat up some olive oil, and start frying your burgers for about 5-8 minutes each side, depending on how rare or well done you prefer your beef.
Arrange your bun how you want it. I personally prefer my burger sided with tomatoes and cucumber, but just the burger and blue cream cheese does the trick already. 🙂 Top your patties with a generous amount of blue cream cheese mushroom topping!
